Application Options

Early Action

If Elmira College is your top choice college, Early Action may be for you. If you want to receive an early admission decision from us, you apply via our Early Action plan. The Early Action deadline is November 15 and you will receive a decision by December 1.

Regular (Rolling) Admission

Elmira offers rolling admission, meaning applications are reviewed on an ongoing basis. Once past Early Action decisions, applicants for regular admission start receiving notifications in early December. From then on, we are usually able to notify you of our decision regarding your application within four weeks of the date your application file becomes complete.

Application Requirements

It's easy to apply using the Elmira College Application.

Here's what you need to do:

• Have your high school guidance counselor send your official transcript, including senior year courses and grades to date.
• Have your official SAT and/or ACT scores sent to Elmira College (if applicable). As a test-optional institution, we do not require the SAT or ACT for admission.
• Submit one academic letter of recommendation completed by a teacher or school counselor (optional).

We also accept the online Common Application. Transfer students wishing to use the Common Application should use the Common App for Transfer.

While not required, we strongly suggest you sit down with an Elmira College admissions counselor for an interview. You can schedule your interview by calling the Office of Admissions at (800) 935-6472 or by contacting your counselor directly.

For students who want to receive an admission decision early*

Regular Decision

For students who are applying to multiple of colleges**

Candidate Reply Date: May 1

Transfer Admission (12 or More Credits)

For students who will have completed four or more transferable college-level courses before entering Elmira
When to Apply (Postmark): Rolling admissions
Notification From EC: July 1
Candidate Reply Date: July 15

International Student Admission

For students who are not U. S. citizens and not a permanent resident of the United States
When to Apply (Postmark): June 1
Notification From EC: July 1
Candidate Reply Date: July 15

January Admission (First Time and Transfer)

For students who plan to matriculate in the semester beginning in January instead of September
When to Apply (Postmark): December 1
Notification From EC: December 30
Candidate Reply Date: January 3
